Basic Life Support – BLS
This is a short course in Basic Life Support and is ideal for those looking to gain basic ﬁrst aid knowledge and skills or indeed update some of the skills that fade over time. It is particularly suitable for healthcare professionals for the purpose of Continual Professional Development (CPD), including: Dental practitioners, Dental care professionals, Nurses and other healthcare professionals. The aim of the course is to enable all students to deal with an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally, and how to deal with an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally. we offer this course both here in Aylesbury Buckinghamshire and indeed across the UK.
A 3-hour classroom based course consisting of theory and practical work.
A range of subjects are covered during this Basic Life Support course which include:-
- Arriving at the scene
- Casualty assessment
- Top-to-toe survey
- Recovery position
- Hygiene control
Assessment and Marking
The course instructor in responsible for determining whether delegates achieve the standards that are set, the assessment will be ongoing during the course consisting of practical and verbal questioning.
Although there is no formal assessment, a certiﬁcate of attendance will be issues on successful completion, the certificate will also count towards the delegates CPC (Continual Professional Development).
A maximum of 16 students can be accommodated on this course.
There is no age limit for those who wish to attend.
