Paediatric First Aid Description
This Paediatric First Aid Full Qualification (Level 3) course has been developed for those who are working with children and infants. It will be of particular interest to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care. It is ideal for individuals who are responsible for children and infants, who wish to gain a nationally accredited Paediatric First Aid Award.
This two-day course satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and OFSTED. Which states; Providers can choose which organisation they wish to provide the training (preferably one with a nationally approved and accredited first aid qualification or one that is a member of a trade body with an approval and monitoring scheme) but the training must cover the course content as for St John Ambulance or Red Cross paediatric first aid training and be renewed every three years.
In order to obtain this qualification, you must attend both days and complete the two units of accreditation. We can deliver this course at your place of work or you can attend one of our training locations here in Aylesbury Buckinghamshire or one of our other centres across the UK.
Duration
A minimum of 12 hours makes up these two units consisting of theoretical and practical work.

Certification
Assessment is ongoing by the instructor in respect of the student’s practical skills and there will be multiple choice question paper to answer in respect of their knowledge.
A three year certificate will be issued subject to assessment.

Qualification title: FAA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (QCF) Code 601/2784/3
Unit 1 title: Emergency Paediatric First Aid Unit code H/506/0792
Unit 2 title: Managing Paediatric Illness and Injury and Emergencies Unit code D/506/0791
Numbers
A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course.
Age limit
Students must be a minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment. A student cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace for children and infants until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is suitable for that role. The certificate will expire as dated on the certificate, irrespective of age.
Cost
This 12 hour fill qualification costs £140* per person which has to be paid when booking is made, this includes verification, certification and booklet.
