Emergency First Aid at Work Course Description
Where an organisation’s risk assessment of First Aid needs identifies that there is a requirement for Emergency First Aid at Work practitioners, then this national Level 3 Award for Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid.
All learners will gain the skills and knowledge to provide their organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.
The Emergency First Aid at Work course is a minimum of six (6) contact hours in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities, some pre-course study could be required. This course is normally completed in one day but if needed we can split this course providing it is completed within 3 weeks from the start date and each session is of at least 2 hours.
A range of subjects are covered during this Emergency First Aid at Work, including:

|Assessment of the situation||Bleeding control|
|Dealing with an unresponsive casualty||Burns|
|Basic Hygiene in First Aid||Chocking|
|Resuscitation & AED||Epilepsy|
Assessment is ongoing by the instructor, along with a multiple choice question paper at the end of the day. A three year qualification will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria.
Furthermore, the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of three hours.

A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course and all learners must be a minimum of 14 years of age although they can not be classed as a First Aider until they are 16 years of age.

This six hour course costs £60* of which a deposit will be required when booking is made, includes verification, certification and booklet. The remaining balance will be due no more than 14 days after course completion.
