The Latest statistics from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) have been released yesterday on 1st November 2017.
The statistics cover 2016/2017 and are the latest and most up to date figures.
Health and Safety Statistics 2017
The latest statistics on work-related health and safety in Great Britain and includes the following key annual figures (2016/17):
- 1.3 million working people suffering from a work-related ill health
Health & Safety is becoming a big part of the working environment, having a good understanding will help protect your company - 2,542 mesothelioma deaths due to past asbestos exposures (2015)
- 137 workers killed at work
- 609,000 injuries occurred at work according to the Labour Force Survey
- 70,116 injuries to employees reported under RIDDOR
- 31.2 million working days lost due to work-related ill health and workplace injury
- £14.9 billion estimated cost of injuries and ill health from current working conditions (2015/16)
