Some of you may or may not know, that our ethos is to give back to communities, where we feel they will benefit from our services or help, we give in the form of a Donation of time, equipment and money.

On Sunday the 10th March 2019 we organised three, 3-hour training sessions for any member of the local community so that they could learn Basic Life Saving (BLS) and the Safe use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), we also included resuscitation on children and babies and dealing with a choking casualty.

It was great to see that 23 members of the community turn up and have fun at the same time as learning new life saving skills.  

We didn’t make it public until we emailed each attendee that if they could we were asking for a small donation, which we would them double the total raised and donate it to St Mary’s CE Combined School.

Today 25th March 2019 I contacted the St Mary’s EC Combined School to ask when I could come in and hand over the donation?

After a brief discussion I attended the school where I was met by the Head Teacher, I explained in full what we had done and why we were donating this money to them and that this was from both the local community and from Kaill.

She was very thankful for the donation and did ask if we would like it to be spent on anything in particular?

I informed her ‘No just as long as whatever it is spent on will benefit the children within the school’. 
Although we don’t do things like this for the publicity the school have asked if it would be okay to put this in their news bulletin, so if you have children that attend the school, I am sure you will see this soon, they will also be placing something on their Facebook feed.

Both St Mary’s and Kaill would like to pass on our thanks to all those that attended and contributed to this event. I would also like to thank The Training Co who kindly donated a quick reference first aid guide, which we gave to each and every attendee.

Finally, I would personally like to thank Lucy Hogg for running the kitchen, Kieran Hogg, Ryan France and Michele Gwilliams for their help and assistance in being casualties for everyone to practice on. Without their help we couldn’t have achieved what we did.

How me manage to do this it by taking a percentage of our profits from the training course we deliver, we will look around for a worthy cause and consider what donation we can offer that will aid them.
